OVERVIEW

Re-unification Palace (VietnameseDinh Thống Nhất) formerly known as Independence Palace (Dinh Độc Lập), built on the site of the former Norodom Palace, is a landmark in Ho Chi Minh CityVietnam. It was designed by architect Ngô Viết Thụ and was the home and workplace of the President of South Vietnam during the Vietnam War. It was the site of the end of the Vietnam War during the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, when a North Vietnamese Army tank crashed through its gates.

OVERVIEW


It may look like train station but it is the main post office in Saigon. It is the largest post office in Vietnam and was built between 1886 - 1891 and is situated right next door to Notre Dame Cathedral. Saigon Central Post Office (Vietnamese: Bưu điện Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city's main church. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century. It has a Gothic architectural style. It was designed and constructed by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel in harmony with the surrounding area. Today, the building is a tourist attraction and open for all postal services.

Rex Hotel is owned by the state-owned Saigon Tourist.

OVERVIEW

Ho Chi Minh City Hall or Hôtel de Ville de Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Head office - Trụ sở Ủy ban Nhân dân Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh) was built in 1902-1908 in a French colonial style for the then city of Saigon. It was renamed after 1975 as Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Illuminated at night, the building is not opened to the public or for tourists. A statute of the namesake is found in park next to the building.
